The festival also plans to include an anchor gathering space at Memorial Park, helping connect the neighborhood-based performances with a central location that celebrates Nyack’s waterfront, public life, and shared community spirit.

Nyack Neighborhood Music & Arts Festival (A Porchfest) will need a mix of basic event, performance, and organizational equipment to support both neighborhood stages and any central gathering area, including sound systems, microphones, speakers, stands, extension cords, power strips, signage, tables, chairs, tents or canopies where needed, lighting for any later performances, check-in and information materials, trash and recycling stations, and safety supplies. Depending on the scale of the main stage or anchor site, additional production support such as a larger PA system, backline equipment, generators, and staging elements may also be required, but one of the strengths of a Porchfest is that many performances can operate with relatively simple setups that keep the festival flexible, affordable, and community-driven.

In other words, the organization is operating as a nonprofit entity and pursuing full charitable recognition, but it should not yet represent itself as an approved 501(c)(3) unless that approval has officially been granted.
